Workout Camps

BASKETBALL TRAINING & WORKOUT CAMPS

We call our camps “Workout Camps” because they are not your normal “picture taking, rotate through stations” type of camps. When a player comes to our camp they will experience much of the same advanced teaching and instruction as we offer at Nike Skill Academies and NBA pre-draft workouts, but broken down in a progressive form that every player can handle.

Campers will develop the basics all week and compete in 2 on 2, 3 on 3, and 4 on 4 before playing 5 on 5. They will also participate in a film session daily to watch the teaching points and moves they have learned. Participants will need to bring a notebook and a pen to every camp or workout they attend.

Ideally, only Jeff Harris Basketball Certified Trainers are selected as staff for our local and travel workout camps. We work in small numbers, with no more than eight – ten kids at each basket and with a ratio of eight – ten campers to each staff member. And each participant has a ball during every drill!

Ideal for weekend, Christmas, spring /Easter breaks, team camps, and summer camps.

Jeff Harris or any one of our staff or Group Members are available to run your camp today!

CAMP STRUCTURE

70% of the camp activity is drillwork to improve triple threat, dribble triple threat, creating space with the dribble and out of the triple threat, NBA dribble moves, shot mechanics, intense shooting, moving without the ball, finishing, footwork to finish, jumproping, motion, reading the defense, and decision making.

15% of the camp activity is film study session to illustrate the individual skills. Clips from the best players in basketball are broken down and studied so that the workout attendees can visually learn as well. Film session is an hour everyday and campers are required to take notes.

15% of the camp activity is game play. This is where the attendees can practice what they have learned in a game atmosphere. Games are 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4 and 5 on 5.

  • Decision making, situational passing, weak hand passing, we also cover aspects players need to know when running the point, playing the wing, or the post.
  • 5 on 5 games – Campers have to play under controlled guidelines.  They have to play through the post, execute ball screens, execute pinch post or floppy sets, before they can score.   These are great assets to our camps.
